Dr Roseline Kela, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Health, says the government was working towards ending the strike action by the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) in the state.
Kela told newsmen, on Tuesday in Lafia, that the state Governemnt and NMA had been able to resolve two out of the demands of the union.
“We have been meeting with them since Friday and as at yesterday, we were able to resolve the issue of career stagnation and arrears of the reviewed salary structure.
“The only issue pending is that of over-taxation and a committee was set up with a view to addressing it,” Kela said.
Kela, who led a team to observe situation at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital Lafia, following the strike action by NMA, expressed delight with the services being rendered at the hospital.
She noted that in spite of the strike, patients on admission were still been attended. (NAN)
