A fire-fighting truck has been deployed to the office of Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) in Nasarawa State.
The fire truck was stationed in front of the INEC office, situated along Kurikyo Road in GRA, Lafia.
When contacted, Nasarawa State chief fire officer, Dogara Dalhatu exclusively told Daily Trust, “I received a letter from the INEC office requesting for a firefighting truck with personnel to avoid any unforeseen emergency due to fire outbreak as evidenced in INEC offices in some states.”
He said his office quickly responded to the request from INEC by deploying a truck and personnel to assist in ensuring a peaceful election was conducted in the state.
However, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Uthman Ajidagba could not be reached for comment, he said recently that he is disturbed with the private and commercial building surrounding the INEC building.
