At least 15 young coaches have been selected from across the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State to attend the forthcoming football coaching course in Abuja.
The newly elected chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association (FA), Mr. Salisu Galadima disclosed this when he hosted members of the Nasarawa State Chapter of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
The sports writers had paid him a visit to congratulate him on his recent election as the Nasarawa State FA Chairman.
He also said arrangements have been concluded to sponsor members of the Nasarawa State Football Referees’ Council for physical fitness tests in Abuja.

Galadima said “Part of my campaign promises to football stakeholders in the State was to facilitate the sponsorship of, at least, one coach from each of the 13 Local Government Areas, and two additional names, to make it fifteen, for a Coaching Course in Abuja, and this will take off very soon, as we have already compiled the list.”
“Also, I promised to sponsor members of the Nasarawa State Football Referees’ Council for Copper Tests in Abuja so we can have more qualified referees from Nasarawa State for local, national and international competitions.
Earlier, in his remarks, Chairman of SWAN, Nasarawa State, Comrade, Mr. Isah Mohammed said the visit was to felicitate with him over his recent victory at the just concluded FA election held in Keffi local government area of the state.
“Your election is proof of your commendable contributions to sports development in the State, especially football.
“We are equally here to seek mutually beneficial alliance with your Board to develop football, particularly at the grassroots level,” said Mohammed.
