The Nasarawa state government has donated 50 hectares of land to the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) to commence the construction of 330-megawatts power station in Lafia, the state capital.
Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who disclosed this during an inspection of the facility in Akurba area of Lafia metropolis, said the stepping down of the 330MW power-line traversing Makurdi and Jos in Benue and Plateau states would provide power to Nasarawa and neighbouring states and Abuja.
Al-Makura said his administration had made much effort to make the project a reality, adding that the land earmarked for the project had already been fenced and compensation paid to its previous owners.
