Nasarawa State Government has donated N10 million to victims of the recent windstorm in Aloshi community, Doma Local Government Area of the state.
Deputy Governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe made the announcement on behalf of Governor Abdullahi Sule, while flagging off of the Aliko Dangote Foundation Palliatives distribution.
Daily Trust reports that over 100 residential houses, the Agbashi Central mosque, part of Pilot Primary School Agbashi and several others public infrastructure were destroyed by the windstorm.
Dr. Akabe who said government is concerned about the plight of victims stated that the N10 million naira was for families whose homes were adversely affected.

He, however, applauded the Aliko Dangote Foundation for its show of love and concern for the downtrodden in the society, adding that Nasarawa is lucky to have 30,000 bags of ten Kilogram rice to be distributed across the 13 local government areas of the state.
According to him, every local council will receive 2000 bags with the exception of Lafia, Nasarawa and Karu which will get two thousand five hundred bags each due to their population size, appealing to the Non-Governmental Organisations saddled with the responsibility of distributing the food items to be fair and just in ensuring the poorest of the poor households benefit from the gesture.
