Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, has charged officers and men of the police command to be professional while discharging their duties.
He said this Tuesday in Lafia, while briefing Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Heads of Departments under his supervision.

“We should be proactive, engage in vigorous crime-fighting, but be more professional in our coverage and patrols of vulnerable and perceived black spots across the state,” he said.
Mr Longe urged his subordinates to be up to speed with happenings of the festive season, when everything, especially crime, moves at break-neck speed.
He, however, said that strategic deployments have been made to thwart criminals from executing their enterprise.
All the entry and exit routes into the state have been fortified, while undercover police personnel have also been deployed and directed to use the instrumentality of community policing to sniff for information to enable the command to nip crime in the bud.
He seized the opportunity to appeal to residents of the state to share information with the police, assuring that such information would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
He also assured the general public of adequate security of lives, property.
