Nasarawa community attack: 2 more corpses found

Two adult corpses have been discovered in a bush following Monday’s attack by gunmen in Katakpa community in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State in which 11 people, including the village head, were shot dead.

City & Crime had reported that gunmen in the early hours of Monday invaded Katakpa, killing 11 people, including two police men, and set houses on fire.

A vigilante who was among security operatives deployed to the community, but preferred anonymity, said the two male adult corpses were recovered in a forest with bullet wounds.

Our reporter also gathered that some residents of the community who escaped during the attack were returning to evacuate their belongings from the community.

The Chairman of Toto LGA, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Tashas, who spoke with our reporter through telephone on Tuesday, confirmed the discovery of the two additional corpses and said more security personnel had been deployed to the community.
