The “Budget of Sustainability” is lower  than last year’s of N119 billion.
N63.4 billion 58.79% was earmarked for recurrent expenditure while N44.4 billion representing 41.21% was estimated for capital expenditure.
The commissioner said the N5 billion decline from the 2014 budget is a result of the consistent decline of allocation from the federation account.
Speaker of the House, Ahmed Musa Mohammed, criticised the implementation of the 2014 budget, citing many lapses. He said  the government failed to meet new accounting standards because the finance ministry staff lack up to date training.
The speaker advised the government to prioritise training and retraining of its accountants to meet the latest accounting standards.
He also faulted the government for not adhering to requirements of yearly financial statements for two years now.
