Nasarawa begins contact tracing as diphtheria kills four children

Following the death of four children as a result of the diphtheria disease in Nasarawa State, the government, in conjunction with the World Health Organisation, has commenced contact tracing of children who had contact with the deceased.

The state Health Educator, Mr Ishaya Amegwa, disclosed this during the state Social Mobilisation Technical Working Group meeting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Wednesday.

Amegwa stated that children were usually vulnerable to diseases, hence the need for parents to avail them of preventable vaccination.
