Nasarawa, Bauchi, Ebonyi, 7 others fail to win gold at Asaba 2022

Nasarawa, Bauchi and Ebonyi states were among the seven states that failed to clinch a single gold medal at the just concluded 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State.

Although they managed to win other medals, the most important one remained elusive to them throughout the games.

A look at the final medals tables shows that Nasarawa State managed to win 7 silver and 13 bronze for a total of 13 medals to finish in 28th position on the table, Bauchi finished 29th with 6 silver and 10 bronze, Ebonyi picked 5 silver and 4 bronze medals to finish 30th on the table.

In 31st position was Kebbi State with 4 silver and 6 bronze, Ekiti finished in 32nd position with 4 silver and 3 bronze, Taraba placed 33rd with 2 silver and 6 bronze, Jigawa 34th with 2 silver and 3 bronze just as Sokoto managed to finish in 35th position win 1 silver and 2 bronze just as Gombe finished in 36th position without a silver but 6 bronze medals.

Meanwhile, the worst performing state is Zamfara State which ended her participation in the NSF without a single medal to place 37th on the medals table.

The host state, Delta, amassed a total of 648 medals to retain their NSF title.
