The national association of Nigerian students has stated her willingness to partner with the Nigerian police force in addressing security challenges in the country.
The NANS president, Comr. Danielson Akpan disclosed this at a press conference held on Thursday in Abuja.
In his speech, Comr. Akpan said the association is willing to partner with the Police force to address cultism, cyber criminality, campus unrest and drug abuse as these are part of the prevailing security challenges in the country.
He further said, this will be done by encouraging students to share intelligence with the police divisions in their respective academic environments.
He said “We know that information is very important, hence our members are spread across the 36 states and present in the 774 LGAs including the federal capital, through us intelligence can be gathered for the Nigeria police force which can help them discharge its duty effectively”
The association also appealed to the government to look into the welfare of the Police force and encouraged the general public to support the Police for a harmonious and secured nation.
