NAFDAC seeks partnership with NYSC against fake drugs

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sought the support of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to engage corps members in the campaign against fake drugs and promotion of healthy living among Nigerians.

NAFDAC Director-General Prof. Moji Adeyeye signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the NYSC in Abuja weekend.

She said the presence of corps members across the 774 local government areas of the country would help to sensitize Nigerians on the dangers of drug abuse and expired drugs, especially at the grassroots.

According to her, the agency’s mandate is to safeguard the health of Nigerians alongside the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

NYSC Director-General, Major-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, represented by the Director, Legal Services, Ibrahim Ahmed Tijani, assured that the scheme would abide by the terms of the MoU.

He commended NAFDAC for engaging corps members in its activities, saying the collaboration would be impactful given the successes recorded in previous national assignments.
