The Nigerian Airforce has commissioned an electronic shooting range, a primary school and other projects at its newly established base‎ in Bauchi
 
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar commissioned the projects alongside Bauchi State governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar. 
 
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar said that the Nigerian Airforce is going through a major transformation in order to meet the present challenges.
 
According to him, there is the need to reposition and strengthen the capacity of Airforce personnel as it grapples with the challenges of insecurity in the country adding that the new security architecture architecture requires a concerted effort and commitment by its leadership.
 
While pledging the unalloyed support of the Nigerian Airforce and other security agencies to president Muhammadu Buhari, he coomended the president for his support to the Nigerian Airforce as well as the entire Nigerian Military and other security agencies to maintain the nation’s territorial integrity.
 
Air Marshal Sadiq noted that the provision of the various infrastructure at various locations is equip the Airforce to meet the needs of the present challenges.
 
The Airforce boss noted that the electronic shooting range was commissioned earlier in Kaduna one provided in Bauchi while‎ another one will be provided in Portharcourt.
 
He informed that the electronic shooting range reduces or almost eliminates the mass movement of personnel and equipments which in turn reduces‎ logistics costs.
 
He added that it also enable the NAF personnel to have excellent marksmanship‎ skills and is the best practice the world over adding that the NAF under his leadership has embarked on staff welfare projects and packages to boost the morale of its officers.
 
While speaking, governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar who commissioned the NAF primary school said that the commissioning of various projects at the new Base in Bauchi is a great milestone since its establishment.
 
He commended the Chief of Air Staff for his vision for the Nigerian Airforce which has improved it’s operations in the fight against insurgency and other security challenges throughout the country.
 
According to him, the Nigerian Airforce has demonstrated it’s professionalism in all its operations adding that the facilities being provided at various NAF bases will help in providing an enabling environment for its personnel to perform well.
 
He also acknowledged the corporate social responsibilities programmes being executed by the Nigerian Airforce to host communities including various medical outreaches and it’s well equipped hospital that‎ opened to public and providing excellent medical care to people.
 
In his welcome address, the commander 251 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Suleman Lawal commended the Chief Of Air Staff for the success recorded and infrastructure ‎provided at the Base in just 18 months of its existence.
 
He also commended Bauchi‎ state government and the entire people of the state especially their host communities for the support and cooperation they have been giving to the Airforce.
