A 28-year-old man was on Saturday arrested by the police in Kubwa while attempting to steal a Honda car in Phase 2, Site 2 area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the FCT.
The suspect, whom police identified as Ifeanyi Obasi, was said to have gone with his accomplice to a nightclub around 1 a.m. with the intention of stealing vehicles parked there. 
City News gathered that the suspect, who had been arrested and convicted for stealing television sets, had already gained access to the car before he was sighted by one of the security guards manning the club who quickly alerted the police.
The source said the suspect, on sighting the police, jumped out of the car and was about to escape when he was apprehended.
City News, however, learnt that his accomplice escaped, while the owner of the vehicle drove it away immediately.
The Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Chief Superintendent Nurrudeen Sabo who confirmed the arrest, said investigation had commenced, adding that efforts are on to arrest his accomplice.
