NAAT issues 14-day ultimatum over withheld salaries

The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the federal government, urging immediate action on its outstanding demands or risk an indefinite strike.

NAAT president, Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma, announced the ultimatum on Wednesday during a peaceful protest at the University of Maiduguri (Unimaid).

Nwokoma, represented by Unimaid NAAT Acting Chairman Yusuf Zangoma, expressed dissatisfaction with the finance minister’s refusal to release withheld salaries despite approval from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

NAAT National Internal Auditor, Yusuf Bulus, also appealed for intervention from concerned Nigerians and stakeholders to prevent disruptions to the academic calendar, research, practical teaching, and laboratory operations.
