The Niger State Government is committing the sum of N500 million in infrastructural developments at the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, (IBBU), Lapai.
The proposed initiative would focus on road networks, provision of male and female hostel blocks among other interventions.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello represented at the 11th matriculation ceremony of the university yesterday by the commissioner of education science and technology, Hajiya Fatima Madugu, said already the state government has address the electricity needs of the institution through the provision of two 500KVA generators, which were currently in use.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Nasiru Maiturare, disclosed that out of the 9,595 candidates that applied for admission, 3,224 candidates were successful while 2,911 students were registered for 2016/2017 academic session.
