Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Abuja, the Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Omotayo Alasoadura, said the programme was aimed at lifting millions out of poverty.
Mr Alasoadura, who was represented by Henry Onwubuya, a deputy director in the ministry, urged the participants to apply the skills acquired during the training for productive ventures and train others.
He said by so doing, youths of the Niger Delta and other parts of Nigeria would be seen as entrepreneurs instead of groups of militants.
A beneficiary, Akin Showore, who was trained in grass cutter production, commended the ministry for the training, noting that they would now be self-reliant and employers of labour.
