Stakeholders from the north-central yesterday called for novel mechanism to solve the spiking cases of insecurity in the zone.
During a meeting of the Central Planning on Security Summit of the North Central Peoples’ Forum, they decried the impact of insecurity on the socioeconomic activities in the zone.

A former governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al Makura, said the extent of activities of bandits and gunmen reached every state in the region except Kwara State.
Also speaking a former Kwara State governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, said his state, regarded as a safe haven, had also experienced incidents of banditry, but did not make it to the headlines.
He called for expedite actions before the entire region becomes bandit’s den.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of NCPF and former Minister of Transport, Jeremiah Timbut Useni, said the propositions of the former governors must be articulated in the management of the security situation in the north-central.
A former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, noted that the NCPF is totally apolitical as evidence in the coming of two former governors from different major political parties.
The security summit, earlier scheduled for June, was at the meeting rescheduled for the second week of July.
