A businessman, Adeyinka Adeniyi, on Tuesday, prayed a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan to dissolve his 12 year-old marriage, on grounds that his estranged wife, Elizabeth, was after his life.

Testifying, Adeniyi, who resides in Ologuneru, Oyo, said: ”Elizabeth is the devil reincarnate.

“The biggest greatest mistake I made in life was the fact that I married Elizabeth. She has poisoned me, attempted to strangle me.

“My Lord, she has contracted assassins to finish her job when the poisoning did not works,” he alleged.

He also alleged that Elizabeth was conniving with his employees in the hotel to steal his money.

In her response, Elizabeth consented to the suit, but denied some of the allegations.

She prayed the court to grant her custody of the children.

“My lord, Adeniyi has taken my freedom from me. He does not allow my relatives to visit. He does not pay his workers.

“My two children and I have become his ad hoc workers and bar attendants. He forces us to sleep in the hotel and work,” Elizabeth alleged.

The President of the court, Chief Ademola Odunade, held that the bond of love between Adeniyi and Elizabeth has been irreparably damaged.

Adumade dissolved the marriage.

He awarded custody of the oldest child to Adeniyi and the younger one to Elizabeth.

The judge also ordered Adeniyi to pay N5,000 monthly to Elizabeth as monthly feeding allowance. (NAN)
