My victory for people of Abaji, says chairman-elect

The newly elected chairman of Abaji Area Council, on the  platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has said his victory is for the good people of the council. 
Addressing newsmen shortly after he was declared winner of the council poll, the chairman-elect said he was overwhelmed with joy over the mass turnout of voters to ensure that change was effected in the council. 
“I want to make it categorically clear that my victory is for the entire  good people of Abaji Area Council, and I promise that I will not let them down,” he said.
He commended the chieftains of the APC in the area, for standing firm against all odds in ensuring that the people of the rural areas also embraced change. 
He also commended  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free, fair and credible election. 
He commended the party’s stakeholders, elders,  youth and women groups for their untiring efforts in ensuring that he emerged victorious. 
The chairman-elect, also commended traditional rulers, village and district heads across the council for ensuring peace in their domains during the election.
