My resignation rumour opposition’s idle propaganda – Osinbajo

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, reacted to a rumour about his alleged resignation saying he is less concerned about it.

Rather, Osinbajo said he was focused on how to take Nigeria to the next level with President Muhammadu Buhari.

This was as he hailed the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu Gambari, over his neutrality in dealing with all the political gladiators in the state.

He thanked the emir during his visit to Kwara State for his door to door campaign.

Osinbajo, who moved round Ilorin metropolis in company of APC stalwarts, said what Nigeria needed was an honest man that could take its people to the next level. He said his rumoured resignation was part of the idle propaganda of the opposition.

The vice president said there was no need wasting time to respond to such propaganda of the opposition.

Earlier at the palace, Osinbajo commended the emir for maintaining balance amongst political gladiators in the state.

He said the emir has shown exemplary leadership and maintained balance though some of his sons were contending among themselves for various elective positions in the 2019 general elections.

While going down memory lane, he described the royal father as a respected judge during his active days on the bench.

Osinbajo said he was in Ilorin to consult and have an interface with members of the APC ahead of Saturday’s rescheduled presidential and National Assembly elections.

“It is our desire that President Muhammadu Buhari be voted for second term and our governorship candidate, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and all our candidates for House of Representatives and Senate,” he said.

In his response, Sulu Gambari, who expressed delight over the visit, prayed for continued peace and development in the state and the country.
