A -74kg Taekwondoin, Bright Kolade, has said his appearances in international tournaments played a key role in his winning a gold medal at the ongoing 2022 National Sports Festival in Delta state.
He further said the feat in Asaba will propel him to do more as he bids to be a world champion after defeating Akwa Ibom’s Iyama Udobong
“I can tell you that the G-4 Taekwondo tournament I participated in in Rwanda opened my eyes to so many things that I needed to learn.
“The experience I picked from there was what I used in the festival to become a champion,” he said.

Kolade has so far won three consecutive gold medals. He won gold in the National Sports Festival from Abuja 2018, Edo 2020 and now Delta 2022. He is the first taekwondo athlete in that weight category to achieve this feat.
