A woman, Mrs Sadinatu Adamu, on Thursday, told a Mararaba area court, Karu LGA, Nasarawa State, that her husband, Yakubu Abdulmajid, thinks she is a burden on him and that he assaults her constantly.

She said, “I married Abdulmajid in April, 2017, according to Islamic law at Ankpa in Kogi State and we have two children.

“But he beats and humiliates me at the slightest provocation. I cannot take it any longer. I am afraid that one day he’ll kill me. He refers to me as a burden.

“I told his family, but they did not get him to change, rather, he has threatened to kill me.”

She, therefore, prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and compel the respondent to allow her to move her remaining belongings from his house.

The respondent did not object to the allegations levelled against him.

The Judge, Mohammed Jibril, adjourned to December 7, for ruling or consideration of settlement.
