A woman, Mariam Olatunji, has filed for divorce against her husband, AbdulRazaq Jamiu, over lack of love at the area court, Center-Igboro, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The petitioner told the court that the respondent had been threatening her life since she made her intention known that she was no longer interested in the marriage.
She said, “He has been threatening me with all sorts of things. He even cut part of my hair.
“So, I want him to write an undertaking not to hurt me in any way as threatened.”

Maryam, who sought the court’s help to retrieve N80,000 from the respondent, said, “I want my money back because I borrowed the money for the purpose of buying a piece of land but he has refused to buy it since last year.”
The respondent, Jamiu agreed to the divorce application but denied owing the petitioner money.
The Judge, AbdulKadir Ahmed, dissolved the Islamic marriage based on mutual agreement and ordered that the petitioner should observe the three-month “iddah” before marrying again.
