My chiefdom not theatre of political thuggery, Nasarawa chief warns youths

The Ohimegye of Opanda-Umaisha in Toto LGA of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, has warned his subjects, especially youths, not to turn his chiefdom to theatre of political thuggery in the name of supporting candidates in the 2023 general elections.

Abdullahi gave the warning in his palace on Tuesday when he received the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, who is contesting for a third term to represent Umaisha /Ugya State Constituency.

He noted that some youths had in the name of supporting political candidates trying to engage in thuggery, warning that he has informed soldiers to arrest a d deal dicessively with anyone who want to breach peace in his chiefdom.

Earlier, Abdullahi told the monarch that he was at his palace to seek royal blessing as he contested for a third term to represent Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency in 2023.

 The speaker also cautioned politicians who were trying to cause political tension in his constituency to desist from such, while calling on his supporters to continue to be law-abiding to constituted authorities as they embarked on campaigns ahead of next year’s general elections.
