A Nigerian musician, Adekunle Kosoko better known by his stage name as Adekunle Gold, has discussed his struggle with sickle cell.

The artist, who recognised sickle cell survivors in his recent theatrical production, stated that he was aware of his condition right from infancy.

He said, “Warriors out there, no matter what you are going through, I wanna say you can do it. If I can do it, then you can. All my life, I fought with sickle cell, but look at me now I am a superstar.”

In a video that is now viral, he thanked God for his prosperous career and widespread fame without suffering any serious health problems. He urged those facing comparable health issues to never give up and be tenacious in pursuing their dreams.

He gave sickle cell survivors a special tribute during his rendition of the song “5 Star.”
