Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has appealed to the Muslim community in the state to collaborate with his administration in addressing the challenges facing the state and resolving ethno-religious tensions.

Speaking during a Ramadan iftar at the New Government House in Little Rayfield Jos, Governor Mutfwang stressed the importance of unity across faiths, ethnicities and social statuses to confront shared issues effectively.

He highlighted the negative impact of long-standing violence in the state, emphasizing the need to return to a culture of love and unity that characterized earlier times.

Governor Mutfwang expressed appreciation for the presence of leaders such as the Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa, and the Emir of Borgu, Alhaji Muhammed Sani Haliru, at the event.

He believed their participation would promote cohesion and lasting relationships across communities.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to creating an inclusive, just, and fair environment in Plateau State, aiming to make it a model of harmonious coexistence for the nation.

The Chairman of Jama’atul Nasril Islam (JNI) Plateau State and Emir of Wase, Alhaji Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, also expressed gratitude for Governor Mutfwang’s support to the Muslim community.

He encouraged the Muslim Ummah to stand behind the governor’s efforts for peace, unity, and progress in the state, dispelling any misconceptions about the governor’s stance toward Muslims.
