MUSWEN calls for calm

The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has appealed to the stakeholders to exercise caution and allow INEC to conclude its duties.

MUSWEN, the umbrella body for all Muslim organizations in the South West, made this call on Tuesday following the call by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party and others for the cancellation of the election results and rescheduling of a fresh election.

The group commended INEC for the successful conduct of the presidential and national assembly elections held on Saturday.

The group noted that there was no perfect election anywhere in the world and cautioned political leaders, international observers and all stakeholders to exercise refrain from overemphasizing the grey areas and let INEC conclude the collation process.

The group also encouraged dissatisfied candidates to seek redress through appropriate channels after the completion of the process rather than disrupt the collation exercise.
