Former El-kanemi Warriors and Enyimba striker, Ibrahim Mustapha yesterday announced his return to the Nigeria Professional Football League with a brace for his current club Plateau United in the 3-0 win over Jigawa Golden Stars.
The striker was making a return to the Jos side after a six-month stint with a United Arab Emirates clubside, Dibba Al Hisn and he proved to be the needed finisher for the club, converting two chances in the 21st and 43rd minutes.
The first, a bullet like drive that left keeper Sochi Victor stranded and the second a header off Isah Ndala corner kick.
Oche Ochowechi had put the hosts ahead in the 6th minute scoring a brilliant goal from 35 yards after displacing a pack of Jigawa defenders with his dribbling skill.
A delighted Mustapha in a chat with www.npfl.ng after the match expressed gratitude to the club for his re-absorption after the six months spell in UAE.
“I am glad to be back and scoring goals for the team. Plateau has always been my home and now that I am back, I will contribute immensely to the success of the team, especially with the players on ground who have been holding forth. “
Plateau United with a game at hand will be visiting FC IfeanyiUbah in what promises to be a tough encounter before returning to Jos for the outstanding game against Rivers United.
