Muslims across the country have been urged to rise to their role as Allah’s vicegerents to rid the society of a creeping concept of idol worshipping in some parts of the country.
Sheikh Hussein Onitira disclosed this in Ilọrin, the Kwara State capital, during the monthly public lecture organised by The Muslims Congress (TMC).
According to him, society is getting worse by the day and Muslims across all spheres of life should be adequately equipped to lead the change in their various capacities.
He said Islam holds the keys to societal peace and economic prosperity that can be achieved in an atmosphere of high moral and religious standards.

He said the recent noise about idol worshipping was the symptom of lost hope and a glamorised concept of prosperity in states and towns across the country especially in Ilọrin.
He, however, said the “market noise” is temporary and will soon fade out.
“This can only be extinguished by the Muslims through the role of a vicegerent Allah placed on their shoulders by leading the moral and religious rebirth of the people in line with the dictates of Allah.
“The only way to get rid of this trend that Shytan has beautified for people is by returning to Allah, there is no other way,” he said.
