Muslim youths urged on Western, Islamic education

The call was made by Ustaz Muhammad Muhammad Abubakar in his paper titled: “The Significance of Time to Muslim Youths” at a Ramadan lecture series organised by the Youth Committee of Jama’atul Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Jos over the weekend in Jos.

Ustaz Abubakar urged the youths to make use of their youthful age to serve Allah as well as make efforts to acquire knowledge and achieve other human endeavors adding that, “This is the only way a youth can reap the fruit of his youthfulness.”

The cleric who served as a guest lecturer at the lecture series which was generally termed as “The Role of Youth in Restoring Peace” also explained the concept of time from Islamic perspective, saying time is a means through which human beings are being reminded of their existence and how a shift in time decreases an individual’s life span on earth.

He further explained the concept of time on how it is used to worship Allah based on the context of Prayer, Zakkat, Ramadan as well as Hajj saying, “All these pillars are built on the concept of time which if not practiced at the specified time or period ordained by Allah will make no meaning.”

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman of the occasion, Sarkin Narkuta, Engineer Muhammad Bello Abubakar described the lecture as timely, saying the topics chosen for all the series scheduled to hold every Sunday of the month of Ramadan would go a long way in helping Muslim to remember what is expected of them as Muslims.
