The Concerned Yoruba Muslim Scholars in Nigeria has urged Nigerians to pray for the success of the February 25 and Marcy 11 general elections in the country.
The group made the call after the prayers held at the Abuja National Mosque, with its President-General, Sheikh Abdurrasheed Mayaleeke and Secretary General, Prof. Olaiya Abideen Olaitan, saying the situation of things in the country required divine intervention.
“We’re gathered here today to seek Allah’s divine favour over the forthcoming elections, pray for peaceful and successful democratic transition. The prayers, which are part of a continuous process, are also going on at various major central mosques across the country throughout the period of the transition process,” Olaitan said.
