The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN) has charged the new executives of the International Press Institute (IPI) Nigeria to be good ambassadors of the country by upholding journalistic tenets and ethics.

MMPN President, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, gave the charge in a congratulatory message to them Sunday.

“MMPN implores the new leaders of IPI Nigeria to bring to fore, their wealth of experience as tested professionals to uplift the standard of the international body as well as its members,” Balogun said.

He also charged them on an all-inclusive regime by carrying all stakeholders along and bringing back the excellence of the past of IPI.

Balogun said the MMPN, “as a professional media body with religious bias”, would be willing to partner with the IPI Nigeria to achieve its lofty aims.

Elected on Friday were the Editor-in-Chief/Chief Operating Officer, Premium Times, Muskilu Mojeed, as IPI president; the General Manager, Business and Strategy, Media Trust Limited, publishers of Daily Trust, Ahmed I. Shekarau, secretary;  Assistant Director, Digital Media, Voice of Nigeria, Rafatu Salami, treasurer.
