The Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN) has launched a N50 million fundraising initiative aimed at completing a hospital project and upgrading its Medical Home in Gombe State.

Gombe State Chairman of IMAN, Malam Nasir Muhammad Ishaq, while briefing journalists on the projects yesterday in Gombe, said the hospitals, once completed, will function as referral centres, providing subsidised medical services to underprivileged patients, particularly those from rural areas.

He said the ongoing hospital project, located along Gombe Southern Bypass, requires N30 million for completion, while the upgrade of the Medical Home in the Tashan Dukku area of Gombe metropolis is projected to cost N20 million.

Malam Ishaq said the hospital will complement existing state and federal healthcare facilities, serving all residents of the state regardless of faith, socioeconomic status, or cultural background.

He explained that IMAN plans to raise 60 per cent of the necessary funds through monthly contributions from its over 3,000 members across the state.

“We aim to generate N30 million through our members’ monthly contributions, while the remaining N20 million will be sourced from the general public,” he said.

Malam Ishaq called on the public to support the appeal fund, assuring that the money raised will be used appropriately and transparently.
