A Kano based Hausa musician, Abdul Kamal has sued BBC Hausa Service for using his sound track in their popular program “Daga Bakin Mai Ita’”without his consent.

Counsel to the plaintiff, Barrister Bashir Ibrahim Umar told the court that the use of the sound track of his client without his consent by the BBC will diminish the future career of his client.

“As an upcoming musician, this will destroy his career as some people may think he (my client) is using the BBC’s track for cheap popularity”.
