At least five persons, among them a woman and her two children, were seriously injured when a gas cylinder exploded and burst into flames in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The explosion which occurred at an uncompleted building in Dagiri area, not far from the Lokoja-Abuja Highway in Gwagwalada, affected at least four shops.

A witness told Daily Trust, “About four shops were affected, and the woman that sells provision near the gas shop was with her children when the explosion took place; they have been taken to the hospital.
“There was also a young man who was cutting firewood close to the place, they just took him to the hospital now. It was really serious.”
