“Mrs. Buhari has carved positive niche for First Lady’s office”

One of the support groups of President Muhammadu Buhari, Re–elect Buhari Movement (RBM) has said the wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, has redefined the office of the First Lady.

The group said the office has witnessed a new face since the assumption of the present administration.

In a statement signed by RBM’s Convener, Mr. Emmanuel Umohinyang on Tuesday, it noted that though the office is unconstitutional, Mrs. Buhari has carved a positive image for the office in the last three and a half years.

“In the past, Nigerians were not pleased with the operations of that office, I think it has been modified to the wife of the President under the present administration”.

Umohinyang particularly lauded the pet project of Mrs. Aisha, the Future Assured, which he noted had impacted on widows, orphans and the poor people.

He appealed to her to continue with the pet project even after the President has finished his term because of its impact on the less-privileged in the society.

“When you look at previous administrations, especially the recent past, you discover that, it was badly abused. The office was raised to a level that it was presumed that it was running at par with the office of the President.

“What has happened under this administration is that the wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari has complemented her husband very well”.
