The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) at the weekend condemned Friday’s attack on Muslims at a Central Mosque in Delta State.
The Executive Chairman of MPAC, Disu Kamor stated that there was no justification for the attack, which has generated widespread condemnation, especially in the Nigerian Muslim community.
At least 11 people were reportedly injured during the attack on the Mosque in Ughelli, Delta State, which happened around 6:47 a.m. on Friday morning while the Muslim faithful were holding the morning prayers.
MPAC while condemning the attack described it as senseless and an act of terrorism, adding that every lover of humanity should join hands to condemn the act.

“We expect that those found responsible, and their supporters will be brought to justice swiftly. We once again call on the governments of the Southern region of Nigeria to intensify efforts and confront the challenge of hate cultists targeting Muslims and mercilessly killing them.”
The centre noted that both Muslims and Christians should cooperate to stop the attack on Muslims in the Southern region.
It tasked the Nigeria Police to investigate this incident as a hate crime where citizens were targeted on the basis of their religion.
