Movie worth N34m to premier soon – Maishadda

Prominent Kannywood producer, Abubakar Bashir Maishadda has said they are prepared and ready post COVID-19 pandemic.

The producer, dubbed the King of Kannywood box office said they are ready to entertain the industry’s fan as soon as the lockdown is lifted, he, however, noted that the lockdown has affected the industry negatively.

“COVID-19 has distorted everything but even with that, we didn’t rest as we are ready and planning a very big return after the lockdown. We’ll come back even better than where we were before the lockdown by God’s grace.” Abubakar said.

Abubakar said after the lockdown, premier of new movies such as ‘Fati’, ‘Bana Bakwai’ and ‘So da So’ will hit the screens.

The producer spoke on the biggest Kannywood blockbuster movie project, ‘The Right Choice’.

“It is the biggest Kannywood project ever in terms of finance. The movie assembles big Kannywood and Nollywood actors. We have filmed the first phase of the movie before the lockdown and we hope to finish it soon. The movie is different from what we have been seeing in Kannywood.”

‘The Right Choice’ is produced by Abubakar Bashir Maishadda and Kabiru Jammaje, worth N35m, that is featuring top Nigerian stars from both Kannywood and Nollywood industries, such as the veteran Sani Mu’azu and Segun Arinze.

Others include the legendary Sola Sobowale, Nancy E.Isime, Enyinna Nwigwe, Ali Nuhu, Abba El-Mustapha, Asabe Madaki and several more.

“We are also preparing to start filming some new movies, like ‘Tsakaninmu’, ‘Maryama Kamanni’, ‘Sauta da Gawa’, ‘Kamal Hassana’ and ‘Sarki Goma Zamani Goma.’” he added.

The producer also called on Kannywood fans and all Nigerians to abide by the COVID-19 precautionary measures to curb the spread of the virus.

“We at Kannywood, we have contributed a lot in the areas of awareness against the spread of the pandemic, especially on its dangers and how to protect ourselves from it and how to control the spread. We are therefore still calling on people to stay safe and alive.”
