The Proprietor of FC Heart, Alhaji Muhammed Mouktar has been identified as the right man to lead the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)’s Football Association (FA) to greater heights.
Chucks Ijeomah, a former U17 male team’s coordinator, said this while speaking to Daily Trust in Abuja on Monday.
Ijeomah, who expressed dismay with the dwindling fortunes of football in the capital city in the past eight years, argued that the FCT FA needed a visionary leader with a financial muscle to take it forward.
Speaking of the Mouktar, the current second Vice Chairman of the FCT FA, Ijeomah said: “He believes in the development of players, coaches and facilities in the grassroots,” adding that the candidate had facilitated the discovery of many talented footballers in the FCT.
He added that: “We want someone in the helm of affair in the FA who is vibrant and can easily raise money in an emergency situation. Mouktar has a wider reach within and outside the country and can attract sponsorship for the FA.
“His capacity to develop players and coaches from the grassroots is outstanding and that is what we want in the FCT FA.”
Ijeomah lamented that the current adminstration had dragged the FA backward, insisting that a better man was needed to lead the affairs of the association, going forward.
