A suspected motorcycle thief has been burnt to death by angry youths at Garin Da’u town of Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The state commandant of Security Vigilante group, Muhammad Kabir Alhaji, told journalists on Tuesday that the suspect was killed on Monday by the mob after stealing a motorcycle at Zenith Bank, Wudil branch.

Alhaji said the mob had used tyres and petrol to burn him alive before the security operatives arrived the scene.

He said the vigilante group handed over his remains to Warawa Division of Nigeria Police Force.

The police spokesman in Kano, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident and promised to call back to give more details.
