An eight-month-old baby boy is reportedly stabbed by his mother at a police barrack in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
According to THE SUN, the baby was still alive when he was rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Federal Teaching Hospital with the knife still stuck in his abdomen.

The Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Dr. Emeka Ogar, however revealed that the baby successfully underwent surgery.
The report added that the mother of the baby, who is married to a police sergeant, is believed to be mentally ill.
