Mother, sons shot as hoodlums attack FCDA director’s apartment

A woman and her two male children sustained bullets wounds after some suspected hoodlums invaded an FCDA director’s apartment at Unguwar Zango in that Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.

A neighbour, Ibrahim Abubakar, said the incident happened around 12:23 am on Friday, when some hoodlums carrying pistols and machetes, invaded the compound.

He said some of the hoodlums scaled through the back fence into the compound and went straight to the apartment of a serving director in the FCDA that reside within the compound.

He said the hoodlums after they succeeded in opening the main door went straight to the room, saying one of them started asking the occupants to bring their phones and laptops.

He said, “So, as they were shouting bring your phones and laptops, the next thing I heard was a gunshot and none of us could come out for fear of being attacked.”

He said though, the director, who was their main target took cover at an undisclosed place within the house, the hoodlums dispossessed the victims of their laptops, iPhone among others.

He added, “After about 30 minutes the hoodlums left, some neighbours summoned courage to come outside and discovered the woman and her two children in pool of their blood inside the house.”

Abubakar said the victims were later rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital.

The spokeswoman for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, did not reply to a text message sent to her on the incident.
