The mother of a 14-year-old internally displaced girl allegedly raped by an international non-governmental organisation worker in Maiduguri, Borno State capital has called for justice in the matter
Huzaif Abdurauf, 35, has been accused of raping the 14-year-old-girl in the Kaleri Area of Maiduguri, Borno State.

The girl had committed suicide after the incident.
The mother of the girl who spoke to Trust TV in Maiduguri on Friday said the aid worker exploited their poor background and vulnerability to carry out such heinous acts against her daughter.
The distraught mother said, “I was laying down, so I told her to gather our plates in one place (to be washed) and go to Islamiyya school. I told her to wash them when she comes back. I told her that I was also going to our school (Islamiyya).
“We close at 10:30 while they close at 11:00. When we closed, I went to greet one of our teachers (a woman). We went together with one of our students.”
She added, “It is just because we are poor, that was why they did this to us. That was why they did this to my daughter out of the dozens of other girls.
“I want the government to ensure that justice is done. I am pleading with the government.”
She urged all concerned authorities and civil rights groups to rise up and ensure justice was done in the matter.
Meanwhile, the Borno State Police Command has paraded the suspect and assured that he would be charged upon conclusion of investigations.
The police said they were awaiting the autopsy report before taking further action on the matter.
The Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umaru, during the parade said the command had received a report that the suspect was lured into his room at 303 Housing Estate when he allegedly committed the act.
He said, “While rushing the victim to UMTH by the suspect in his Honda Accord car with Reg. No. KRD 116 DJ – LAGOS, he recklessly drove against traffic and hit one Nasiru Suleiman of Mairi Kuwait area Maiduguri.
“Both victims were rushed to UMTH where Aisha Mohammed Adam ‘f’ gave up the ghost while Nasiru Suleiman was admitted.”
But in an exclusive interview with the Daily Trust Saturday, the suspect denied that he raped and killed the girl as being alleged.
The suspect admitted to knowing the girl for a while and invited her to his house on the said date.
