The mother of HRH, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola (Akogun of Ife-Olukotun), Hajia Fatima Yusuf-Ajibola, was buried Wednesday in accordance with the Islamic injunction at Ife-Olukotun, Kogi State.
Aged 110 years, Hajia Fatima died in her hometown, Ife Olukotun, Yagba East LGA of Kogi State, after a brief illness on Tuesday night, January 30, 2024.
She left behind many children among them Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, a former Managing Director of Daily Trust Newspaper, and Hajia Ayisat Lasisi, Hajia Sabitiu Hussain as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The centenarian was a devout Muslim. Her three-day Fidau prayers will be conducted on Friday, February 2, 2024, at her residence in Ife-Olukotun, Kogi State, the family announced.
Daily Trust reports that hundreds of people, among them clerics, community leaders, businessmen, among others attended her funeral prayer.
They paid glowing tributes to late Hajia Fatima and prayed Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatil Firdausi.
Mr Ajibola in a comment described his late mother as the best.
“She was everything to us. We are going to miss her. The whole community will miss her. She was an embodiment of peace and togethernees.
“Our prayer is, may Allah accept her ibadah and all that she did to advance Islam,” he said.
