A mother of four has jumped into and drowned in Awodi River in Sobi area of Ilorin East Local Government Area (LGA) of Kwara State.
The woman, said to be 38 years old, was allegedly frustrated with her inability to pay a balance of N30,000 from a N50,000 loan she collected to boost her business.

It was gathered that her creditors in the contribution group where she got the loan from started harassing and embarrassing her over the balance before she took the fatal decision.
The spokesman of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, told City & Crime that her corpse was recovered from the river in the presence of her husband.
He explained that, “It was a case of frustration. It was learnt she had issues with the repayment of a N30,000 balance from a debt following incessant harassment.”
