Mother, 3 kids burnt to death in Ebonyi

A woman and her three kids died in a fire incident at Aguabata Echara, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi, the State Fire Service said.

The director of the fire service, Raphael Ibiam, said the incident occurred on Tuesday while the victims were asleep in their house.

“On the cause of the fire, we were told that one man, a resident in the area, was responsible for the inferno.

“We learnt that the man set their house ablaze at night. The fire killed a woman and her three kids,” he said.

Samuel Okoro, a relative of the woman, alleged that the fire incident was intentional as there was no trace of bush burning around the building.
