A young graduate from university of Calabar who is an Indigene of IMO state said she took on a teaching job after she graduated but the pay was inadequate, so she decided to be a tricycle operator.
The young lady who drives a commercial tricycle , (Keke marwa) for a living has said it pays better than a teaching job.

She said this In an interview by one of her passengers who was impressed by her spoken English
In her words:
“ I am a graduate of physiology from the university of Calabar, i am from imo state”
when asked why she chooses to drive keke, she said “i was actually teaching in a private school ,so i got tired of their treatment and the pay was very very poor, i then said let me try this Keke business and see if i will be gaining better , “keke work better pass teaching work by far”.
she added that she is not married, and most ladies are encouraged to do the same business.
Tricycle riding in the country is believed to be a male dominated transport business.
However, in recent time the perception is gradually changing with the emergence of ladies coming in stronger.
