Commissioner of the ministry, Alhaji Habu Dauda Gulani, gave the directive on behalf of government. The measure will be a step further as every year, the state government does approve millions of naira for free feeding in mosques and other strategic places for people who fast and could not afford meals at sunset.

Gulani said government would continue to offer assistance to the citizenry adding that more plans are under way to make citizens happier and make religious activities more effective.

He said recently, the ministry had toured all the emirate councils in the state where the advice of royal fathers was sought on regulation and issuance of licences to preachers as a way of reducing tension and fostering peaceful coexistence among the people.

The commissioner, however, urged the Sharia committee chairmen to mount vigilance with a view to tracking down people who operate hotels illegally in the state.
