Moremi House has emerged the overall winner of this year’s edition of Greenspring school Inter-House sports festival in Lagos.
The Inter- House sports festival which was held yesterday at the University of Lagos, UNILAG saw five houses competing for laurels at the one day event.
The houses namely Moremi, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Amina, Anthony Enahoro and Jaja competed against one another in athletics events like 100m, 200m and 4×100 in male and female categories.
Apart from the exhilarating displays by the youngsters in different sporting events, other activities of the day that spiced up the day were parents and staff races for both male and female.
The teeming spectators who turned up for the Inter-House sports were thoroughly thrilled as they cheered on the participants, especially the kids.
The Head of School, Anthony Campus, Mrs. Magdalene Okrikri, said sports has been pivotal to the development of mental and physical wellbeing of students.
“Greensprings is a school that focuses on the development of the total child. So, we embrace and invest in activities that help to achieve that.
“Interestingly, sports is one such activity. It is also an essential component of life that benefits the mind, body and spirit,” she said.
